The TBS Independence Obelisk is one of Lagos's most recognisable monuments, and Morehomz Concept was entrusted with giving it a new lease of life. Our scope covered the landscaping of the grounds and the full repainting of the monument. We set out concentric kerbed beds around the base, laid new paving and planting areas, and prepared the obelisk's surfaces for a clean, durable finish, all while working within an active public setting. Working around a busy city landmark meant careful planning. Scaffolding, access, and works were coordinated so the site stayed safe and organised, with durable materials chosen to withstand Lagos's weather and heavy public footfall. The result is a monument that stands properly in its surroundings: a clear, well-defined landscape at its foot and a restored finish that honours its significance as a landmark of the city.
